Well, here we go then.
The boys started in-door soccer two weeks ago. In-door soccer is a parents best friend!!!!! No sitting out in the freezing rain or wind, chairs to sit on, no one bringing big umbrellas and setting them up directly in front of you, big barriers so the ball stays IN play and not being chased down the field, and best yet, they practice BEFORE the games, NOT at inconvenient times during the week. (always scheduled on scout nights) The boys have been doing great! This is Noah's first year playing sports. He has always missed the age cut off and has sat on the sidelines. So now he gets to play.
Nicholas has turned out to be a fantastic goalie! He also plays an awesome defense when it is someone elses turn to play goalie, but they always put him in first.
Nathan has really enjoyed soccer as well. As you can tell, he is one of the tallest kids on his team and
plays an awesome defense as well. He can block pretty much anything they kick his way.
The funniest thing to watch is when my kids are being "polite" during games and letting other kids have turns - even when they are on the other team. I am glad they are not out for blood and win at any cost, but I need to now teach them how to win while being kind. Nathan however, has decided he would like to play lacrosse. Sign ups are in a week, and there is some very interesting negotiations going on at the Sill house. I think it would be great and would actually prefer it over football. But I will let the men hash this one out.
Well, my banana bread just finished (wish we had smell-o-vision)! Two of my neighbors had surgery last week and are now home, so Noah and I are taking banana bread to them and seeing how they are doing.
