This morning as I was getting breakfast ready, I looked up and saw the flowers that Greg had given me the night before he went to New York last week.
It got me to thinking how lucky and grateful I am to be married to such an amazing man. He is a man of few words, but a wonderful man of action. He tells me everyday that he loves me. It is something I need and want to hear. He writes beautiful poetry when the mood strikes him. He isn't one for a lot of "flowery" "mushy" talk. But he shows me he loves me every single day. He is my "Man of Action" hero!! Yesterday alone he went shopping (Saturday shopping is one of my least favorite things to do.) and got shelves so he could clean up and organize the storage room. He got me a new mouse since mine isn't working, he got me a new power cord that actually will hold all the plugs I try to plug in by my bed. (and more importantly showed me how to use it) He got (and installed) privacy window film for our bedroom window because I had told him I was tired of the piece of material that we had been using. He is always doing little and big things for me. He takes the kids to school everyday, in the mini-van, he calls me from work to check on me. He calls me before he comes home to see if I need anything. He shovels the driveway in the freezing cold, he takes the cars in to be fixed, he takes the kids to run errands so I can have some quiet time, he takes out our bathroom garbage that I manage to fill on a daily basis, he comes home from working all day and will grill dinner for me, he knows I am not a morning person - so he gets the kids up and going in the mornings. All day, everyday he is constantly showing me that he loves me. The list literally goes on and on and on.
So as I am daydreaming and thinking about how wonderful he is I am not paying attention to what I am doing and proceed to cut my finger as I am slicing the bagel. I drop the knife and bagel and Greg asks if I cut myself. (Yes, he was laughing, but I love the man) He then immediately goes and gets me a band aid because he is my man of action!!!
I appreciate him and all he does to show his love. I am one lucky and extremely spoiled and loved woman!

Off track adventures
So the kids have been off track for the last 3 weeks. 3 weeks???? It's gone by fast, well somedays seemed more like years - but I can't believe it's time to send them back to school. The kids are usually really good the first 2 1/2 weeks and then have "issues" the last half of the last week. For some reason, they decided to do it backwards this time. We had a rough start, but then this week has been really good. Go figure. They are just trying to keep me on my toes I guess.
The first weekend they were off was mine and Gregs 17th anniversary. Just saying that makes me feel sooo old. But I wouldn't change it for anything. For our anniversary (and Valentine's Day) Greg and I took my wedding ring into the jewelers and had it dipped in white gold and had another band made and put on. It looks amazing!! I love it!
We went out to lunch and decided to go up to Ogden and take a trip down memory lane.
Monday we went on another "sweet" tour to Sweet's Candy Company. We had a great tour with lots of samples along the way. We then had to stop at the outlet store and get even more yummies!
An hour and a half of them jumping non-stop.... wore me out just watching them. Thankfully it wore them out too!
Tonight Greg and Nathan were trying to work on his Science Fair project and Noah was trying to "help". So to distract him, I decided to let him help make dinner. He decided on waffles. But not just any waffles for him. Oh no, we had a plethera of putrid colored waffles.
Purple however was my personal favorite....

This is the house Greg was living in when we were dating and where he proposed to me.
The boys weren't all that impressed with the "trip", so luckily there was the train show going on at the Ogden Train Station. So the boys and Greg had a great time climbing in, on, and around some really big trains.
We decided to go and see "Gnomeo and Juliet" as our first official outing of our off track time.
It was really a cute show. The boys had a good time. The popcorn was pretty good too.
We went on field trips each week. Our first stop was Mrs. Fields cookies. We went on a tour and then got to sample the goods. I was informed that I shouldn't make cookies anymore, that we should just buy Mrs. Fields cookies from now on. Our next trip was to Mrs. Cavanaughs chocolates. I learned a thing or two about dipping my chocolates! Very educational - and delicious!
Last Saturday we decided to treat the boys - well, mostly me, to Texas Roadhouse. One of my favorite places!

Greg had a business trip this week and went to New York for two days. So we stayed home and played - and yes, technically we would have been home playing anyway. But we decided we needed to go out and
have some ice cream. Well, a little ice cream with our toppings!
To celebrate the last day officially off track, we went to Airborne Sports in Draper. Or as I like to call it, trampoline land. The building is a huge warehouse that has a ton of trampolines hooked together with a "pit" to jump in and even trampolines on the walls to bounce off of. In other words - heaven for my monkeys!!
Nicholas literally climbing the walls...
Noah jumping with the big boys.
Nathan getting ready to take a flying leap..

Noah's was yellow with red speckles... not that you could really tell with half a can of whipped cream on it.
Nicholas was going for the "disguting" look. Yup, he nailed it....Noah decided to make Nathan and Gregs as well.
He gave Greg the BYU blue one.....Purple however was my personal favorite....
Another off track adventure has come to an end. I have to admit I love having them off track, but the thought of having my routine back makes it easier to send them off to school again.
