Love notes

I absolutely love getting little love notes any time of year, not just Valentine's Day.  My little men never disappoint.  They leave me notes all over the house and it just makes me smile!!!

These are just a few of them that are around the house.  Nathan made me a paper flower that I still have on my nightstand and Noah is always cutting out hearts to give me.  Hopefully they will continue this when they get married and their wives can benefit from this as well.  Until then, I will enjoy it all I can!

Time to play "Catch Up"

Whew!  I finally have a few minutes to sit and catch up on all the events from the last month.  The few times I've had, I decided sleep was more important.
So - here we go!
At the end of January, we needed a good fun family home evening that didn't involve cleaning the basement or homework. So Greg, being the terrific dad that he is - helped the boys make marshmallow guns out of pvc pipe and we had a marshmallow war.

We had marshmallows EVERYWHERE for several days.  It was a lot of fun.  They started "modifying" their guns and sending the marshmallows even

farther.

Nathan had the misfortune of getting sick at the end of January.  I thought he had a sinus infection and took him to the doctor.  We found out he had group B influenza AND Strep.  Together. He was miserable and stayed home from school for an entire week.
Noah got the stomach yuckies that week and stayed home one day, Nicholas got it as well and stayed home for 2 days that week.  It was a very, very long week for everyone.

Finally we got everyone feeling better and back to school.  Then it was time for February!!!
Every year I do the "14 Days of Valentine's" for Greg.  They are little things I do or give him to let him know how much I love him and how much he means to me.  Here are a few things....

The funnest one was that everyday I wrote a love message on the bathroom mirror with dry-erase markers.

The boys had as much fun reading them everyday as I had doing them.  The would come rushing into the bathroom in the morning to see what new message was there.
Even though Valentine's is over, the boys have been writing their own messages to Greg on the mirror.
It;s been really cute.

We also made wayyy to many treats for Valentine's Day.  The favorite was cookie dough truffles.

Followed closely by the chocolate covered cake truffles.

I made a few of them into heart shapes.  We baked and cooked and enjoyed a great Valentine's Day.
I was able to help out in Nicholas's class for his school party.  We had a great party at home for family home evening.
I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband and wonderful boys!

Last Saturday, we got to spend the day together as a family.  We first went down to Lindon to a little jewelry store that dips your gold ring into white gold.  So we took my wedding ring in to get it dipped and to get another band added to it.  I am sooooo excited!  I can't wait for it to be done!! (My Valentine's and anniversary present from Greg)
Since we were down that way, we decided to head to the Harley Davidson shop for lunch.

Then we decided to go to the Boat Show in Sandy.  We found some amazing boats!  Unfortunately, the ones we really liked would require us to sell our house and actually live in the boat.  As fun as that sounds (for a week or two) I think we will remain land dwellers for the time being.  We did find the two boats that the boys really wanted.  They are pretty self explanatory.....

This week has been fairly low key.  Nicholas earned his Bobcat award in scouts and the boys had their first Lacrosse clinic Friday night.  Greg was once again - a wonderful husband and took the boys so I could have a few hours to myself.  Oh how I love that man!
One of my favorite times of the day is after homework is done and I am fixing dinner and the boys have their quiet reading time.... it is one of the few calm times around the house in the evenings.

Tomorrow is President's Day and the boys have the day off, Greg is going into work for a little while, then hopefully we will be able to go and do something fun together.  This is the last week of school for the boys and then they will go off track for 3 weeks.  We are trying to plan a fun get away for the break.

Ok.  I think this post is long enough.  Good night everyone!
