Lunch with Noah

Date with my favorite 7 year old! I picked him up from school and we went to lunch and then went and checked out pirate books and had a great lunch date.

What? You say it's APRIL??

Wow.... that pretty much sums it up. Just, WOW.  APRIL?? MID APRIL no less? I didn't realize it has been so long. You would think I would have wonderful things to show for my time....  Well, nothing exciting to "show" per say..  but I have been unbelievably busy.  Word of warning to mothers whose last child finally starts 1st grade and is in school all day... DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT volunteer for EVERYTHING at school that first year.  It is too overwhelming and time consuming.  Not that I begrudge helping out at school, but it has turned into what seems like a full time job.  I was feeling guilty for not helping out as much as I thought I should when I had little kids still at home, I just shouldn't have tried to make up for it all in one year.  I love being able to help out in the boys class rooms and getting to know their friends and teachers.  But I have also helped with multiple assemblies, "ribbon" weeks, activities, performances, committees, and dinners.  Unfortunately, I have been sorely lacking in my responsibilities at home.  The house is messier than usual, I haven't gone grocery shopping in weeks, (just the hit and run in between activities), piano practice has been horrible, the yard ...well, the yard is on the bottom of my priority list..., exercising consists of lugging things to and from the car to the school, dinners are more or less "fend for yourself".  I dread looking at my e-mail, wondering what else I have signed up for and forgot about.
I was recently called as our ward primary secretary, and between that, math tutor for Nicholas, lacrosse for Nathan, and everything else..... I have not taken the time to blog, or sleep, or shower... oh no, I did get a shower at 10:00 last night...whew!
I was actually sitting down to do a grocery list (woo whoo) when I decided to peek at the blog and couldn't resist at least letting everyone know that yes, I am still alive and kicking (some days screaming as well).
The boys are doing fantastic!  They are such great kids, I am beyond blessed to have this opportunity to share this time with them.  They make me laugh, cry, pray, and very proud to be their mom.  I will get updates on everyone soon.  (I am trying not to feel guilty for not going in to the school this morning to hang artwork for the 3rd grade art show, but I did make and paint the paper mache masks all ready this week....someone else needs a turn...)
So I am off to the grocery store, YEAH!!  Real food for the family!
