It has been a great general conference. I know it usually is, but there were several talks that were directed to me. I loved the talk by Sister Dalton- to dads and daughters. She told dads that they have a monumental roll in raising good, loving, and amazing young women. By loving the girls mothers and by being good men, they are showing their daughters what a good husband is and what to look for in a husband. They also need to love them unconditionally and help them feel loved and accepted. It was a good reminder for everyone. Now I know that I have no daughters, but it made me realize what a responsibility I have towards my sons. If fathers have a profound impact on their daughters, then mothers have just as much impact on their sons. No, this is nothing new, it was just a really good reminder.
Several weeks ago - before everyone got sick, I gave Greg a book of day hikes in the Salt Lake area. I marked off several hikes for us to do as a family. The idea was to do one or two a week as a family activity. Obviously with the month we have had, we haven't had a chance to go. We decided it was such a perfect day that we would try two of the easiest hikes in between conference sessions.
It was BEAUTIFUL!
The first hike was the Temple Quarry Trail up Little Cottonwood Canyon.
Temple Quarry trail was about a 10 minute "walk". We decided to go a little further up the canyon to Lisa Falls. The hike was very short, just very "up". It was cool and quiet and wonderful.
All in all, a great day!
