The first weekend they were off was mine and Gregs 17th anniversary. Just saying that makes me feel sooo old. But I wouldn't change it for anything. For our anniversary (and Valentine's Day) Greg and I took my wedding ring into the jewelers and had it dipped in white gold and had another band made and put on. It looks amazing!! I love it!
We went out to lunch and decided to go up to Ogden and take a trip down memory lane.
This is the house Greg was living in when we were dating and where he proposed to me.
The boys weren't all that impressed with the "trip", so luckily there was the train show going on at the Ogden Train Station. So the boys and Greg had a great time climbing in, on, and around some really big trains.
We decided to go and see "Gnomeo and Juliet" as our first official outing of our off track time.
It was really a cute show. The boys had a good time. The popcorn was pretty good too.
We went on field trips each week. Our first stop was Mrs. Fields cookies. We went on a tour and then got to sample the goods. I was informed that I shouldn't make cookies anymore, that we should just buy Mrs. Fields cookies from now on. Our next trip was to Mrs. Cavanaughs chocolates. I learned a thing or two about dipping my chocolates! Very educational - and delicious!
Last Saturday we decided to treat the boys - well, mostly me, to Texas Roadhouse. One of my favorite places!
Monday we went on another "sweet" tour to Sweet's Candy Company. We had a great tour with lots of samples along the way. We then had to stop at the outlet store and get even more yummies!
Greg had a business trip this week and went to New York for two days. So we stayed home and played - and yes, technically we would have been home playing anyway. But we decided we needed to go out and
have some ice cream. Well, a little ice cream with our toppings!
To celebrate the last day officially off track, we went to Airborne Sports in Draper. Or as I like to call it, trampoline land. The building is a huge warehouse that has a ton of trampolines hooked together with a "pit" to jump in and even trampolines on the walls to bounce off of. In other words - heaven for my monkeys!!
Nicholas literally climbing the walls...
Noah jumping with the big boys.
Nathan getting ready to take a flying leap..
Tonight Greg and Nathan were trying to work on his Science Fair project and Noah was trying to "help". So to distract him, I decided to let him help make dinner. He decided on waffles. But not just any waffles for him. Oh no, we had a plethera of putrid colored waffles.
Noah's was yellow with red speckles... not that you could really tell with half a can of whipped cream on it.
Nicholas was going for the "disguting" look. Yup, he nailed it....Noah decided to make Nathan and Gregs as well.
He gave Greg the BYU blue one.....Purple however was my personal favorite....
Another off track adventure has come to an end. I have to admit I love having them off track, but the thought of having my routine back makes it easier to send them off to school again.
